IHL WEEKLY HONORS FOR WEEK SEVENTEEN

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Monday that Bloomington left wing Craig Macdonald has been named the IHL Player of the Week, Flint center John Mori has been named the IHL Rookie of the Week and Quad City goaltender Kyle Jones has been named the IHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 7th, 2010.

HOME SWEET HOME

ROCHESTER, MI--- Home ice was sweet for five teams this past week. Six of the nine games played during Week 17 were won by the home team. With the exception of Dayton, every other team has a winning record at home. Muskegon is the only team who has 20 or more wins, racking up 21 wins at LC Walker Arena so far this season. The ‘Jacks are also currently on a nine-game home winning streak, the second longest in the IHL this season behind Port Huron, who had an 11-game home win streak from November 15th thru January 15th.

MEIJER IHL MONTHLY HONORS FOR JANUARY

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Tuesday that Bloomington center Jon Booras has been named the Meijer IHL Player of the Month, Port Huron left wing Mickael Bedard has been named the Meijer IHL Rookie of the Month and Fort Wayne goaltender Nick Boucher has been named the Meijer IHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of January.

KAUFMANN EARNS SECOND SHUTOUT AS A MALLARD

ROCHESTER, MI--- Quad City goaltender Jerad Kaufmann earned his second shutout of the season Sunday, turning aside all 21 shots he faced from Bloomington to get the 3-0 victory over the PrairieThunder. The two shutouts tie him for second among IHL goaltenders. The rookie netminder, who joined the Mallards less than two months ago, currently is tied for first in save percentage with Port Huron’s Larry Sterling with a .921 percentage. The Mallards have played 26 games since Kaufmann joined the team. In those 26 games, he has appeared in 17, starting the last eight straight.
